Amid the quagmire, noise and rush,
I get a few moments of hush,
Moments of silence deep enough
To drown out the world’s huff and puff,
Moments quiet enough to hear only the sounds
Of our resonating hearts’ pounds,
Resonating to the rhythm of a hum,
A tune such as that of a sailor high on rum,
A merry song and dance by the universe,
A celebration of our love with nothing short of a jolly verse,
For when the warmth of two souls glows
As bright as ours glows and grows,
Even the angels break in praise, and sing
For something as magical as the flutter of a butterfly’s wing.
In those exhilarating moments of hush,
Moments of stillness deep enough,
Our love rings true, no fog or mush,
Just us, unfazed, in seas calm or rough.
